Trainer |
Dr Katijah Dawood, PhD (Social Work), MSW, BA; and is currently the Executive Director of Society of Moral Charities (Centre for Family Harmony). She joined the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society in August 2005 to set up a specialised centre for children from divorced and separated families. Established in July 2006, the Centre provides supervised access, supervised transfers, counselling, group programmes and training. She has also developed modules on Ethics and Legislations, Working with Families and Professional Development under the WDA WSQ framework. These courses are accredited by WDA. In 2009, she initiated a Task Force on family violence issues, focusing on cultural-sensitive practices and developing safer communities. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board and Discharge Committee, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. She is also certified to conduct Taylor-Johnson Temperamental Analysis and Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme).
Ms Sukvir (Monica) Kaur, MA (Counselling Psychology) is a Certified Traumatologist, Family Therapist, and is currently a Senior Counsellor at the Centre for Family Harmony (CFH). Ms Sukvir received her training in Adlerian family therapy and Traumatology in Canada and Singapore respectively. In Canada, she worked extensively with the Ministry of Children and Families (Vancouver) in areas such as family violence, parenting and families in crisis. In Singapore, Ms Sukvir was with the Association of Persons with Special Needs (APSN) as the Head of Counselling and acting Head of Social Work. At the Association, she had used expressive therapies to teach self-management and social skills to students with mild intellectual disability.
